How do I add a verification code to connect my website to the Google search console?

You will get this code after adding your link to the Search Console. Search Console treats every domain/subdomain as a separate entity, therefore you have two websites and it will issue you a code for each (it might be the same or different for each, depending on your Google account settings)

Then you can proceed with verification in the Search Console.
